I'm very interested in economics, democracy, communication, food, trees and group dynamics (particularly around governance and levels of participation)
I Currently work with -
Biofuels - I develop hardware to allow wood and plant oils to be used effectively as fuels. I support the idea of localised community scale production of energy.
Community Land Trust - I work trying to get disadvantaged people/groups affordable access to land
Co-operative consortia of self-employed people - A mutual support group.
Community gardens - I volunteer at a few different projects
I also participate and identify with various projects/groupings that tend to have open governance structures and could be described as having swarm like characteristics. I tend to engage with these groups via the internet (although not exclusively). Work focus is food, economics, open-source, the commons.
None of this currently really earns me any money so I also do some work as a tree surgeon.
I grow some of my own food.
